Welcome to Empower! I’m Mrs. Batten, Wilkshire’s Empower teacher. Empower is a creative arts class unique to our building and district. When students visit The World Room for class, they are engaged in opportunities to promote social-emotional learning through a Responsive Classroom approach. We develop internal skills for learning, problem-solving, and coping. We learn how to work with and appreciate others around us at school, home, community, and the world. Through our work in Empower, we strive to be kind, respectful, and helpful citizens.
